God's Desire for You

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1Timothy 2:3-4)

The Bible teaches us that God created us in his image. God gave us everything we needed and authority or dominion over all of creation. (Genesis 1:26-27). He placed the first man, Adam and the first woman, Eve in a beautiful garden called Eden. Adam and Eve walked with God and talked to him face to face. God loved us so much that he gave us free will-- the will to choose good and evil; the will to make decisions. One day Eve was deceived by satan and Adam willfully sinned against God. Their choice meant leaving Eden and being separated from God. But God had a plan. He loved us so much that he already had a way to restore our fellowship!

God promised to send a Savior, Jesus Christ. "But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons" (cf. Galatians 4:4-5; John 3:16).

Jesus prays for all believers "Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world...." (John 17:24).

God's desire for you is to know that he loves you. He loves you so much that he sent his only Son Jesus to save you. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16). How cool is that? God Loves You!
