Ministry to Haiti

THE LITTLE ANGELS PROJECT

Providing love and safe haven for Haitian orphans

In January 2010, a typical day, Haitians went off to work and school. A 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti, killing over 220,000 Haitians, leaving 1.5 million people homeless, and devastating its capital city of Port-au Prince.  This was on the heels of massive devastation in some of its major cities such as Port au Prince, Jacamel, and Gonaives due to severe rain storms and flooding. The devastation on the island was so massive that Nations poured billions of dollars into rebuilding the island.  Yet years later, Haiti remains in ruins and hundreds of children are barely surviving in desperate conditions on the streets.

Thousands of children were orphaned and severely injured.  Desperate to meet the needs of their countryman, especially the children, Joseph and Joseline Pierre used their personal resources to build a well and health clinic in Cap Haitian.  Joseph and Joseline knew then that God was calling their family to minister to children orphaned by the earthquake and to other orphans as God should lead.

With land donated by family members, they came together with a plan to build an orphanage located at Camp-Louise, 1st rural section of Acul-du-Nord, Cap-Haitien, Haiti to rescue some of these unfortunate children. In 2011, they broke ground for a medical clinic, the only medical facility serving Camp Louise and the surrounding area for miles.(All public hospitals in Haiti are closed.) The Medical Clinic opened and was dedicated to the Lord in 2012.

I personally became involved first with monthly pledges to support this building project. Then, in 2013, the Lord laid it on my heart to host a prayer vigil.  Our MarylandDistrict Pastors and members came together on June 21, and hosted a live, virtual prayer vigil for Haiti. Christians in Haiti, Canada, the U.S. Virgin Islands and throughout the United States came together to declare spiritual war on the principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, spiritual wickedness in high places assigned to the Nation of Haiti that keep it in poverty, hinder its revival; prevent development of its infrastructure; and keep the nation dependent on foreign charity without
progress, restoration, or ability to build toward full financial independence.

Together we raised the funds to continue the work that that Pierre family had begun. The Health Clinic was completed in 2013. I had the privilege of dedicating this work to the Lord.  Free medical care and medicine is provided daily. The Health clinic is the only one in the Cap Haitian and is supporting the entire area due to the closure of the nearest hospitals.

Ten young boys who were orphaned by the earthquake are housed in the upper level of the clinic.  Other children are in desperate need of housing in the area and come daily for a meal.

In October 2016, Haiti was again devastated and nearly 1000 people were killed and thousands more were displaced as Hurricane Matthew tore through Haiti’s soutwestern coast.  The infrastructure and basic things that we take for granted such as clean water, electricity, and emergency services are simply not available.

How You Can Help

Prayer

Without ongoing concerted efforts in prayer and fasting for this nation, it will continue to experience the cycle of poverty and instability.  The ruling powers assigned to this nation must be identified and destroyed if Haiti has any hope of experiencing a positive future.

Help us build the orphanage and expand support of the children
